From mammals like beavers and otters to a wide variety of birds, Radnor Lake offers some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in the state.
The park is home to many species of waterfowl and other birds. The Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center houses injured-non releasable birds, including a great horned owl, red-tailed hawk, black vulture, golden eagle, and bald eagles.
The visitor’s center at the entrance to Radnor Lake features various exhibits and a map of the entire lake. It’s open from Thursday to Monday.
Please note that Radnor Lake is a Class II State Natural Area. This means it’s a day-use area only, and activities like camping and picnicking are not allowed. Furthermore, any hunting within the natural area is illegal. This helps preserve the natural beauty and wildlife of the park.
"Nice trail system for hiking (no biking, running, or jogging allowed). There are paved trails and non-paved wooded trail options. The wooded trails were fairly quiet.

Beautiful state park with limited parking. Took two visits on different days to get a parking spot, but well worth the wait.
