WARREN DUNES STATE PARK
Warren Dunes State Park in southwestern Michigan offers 1,950 acres of recreational possibilities along the gorgeous shore of Lake Michigan. The rocky dune structure rises 240 feet above the lake and provides stunning vistas as well as good hang gliding. The park features over two miles of shoreline and six miles of hiking trails, and it is open all year.

Warren Dunes State Park is one of the most breathtakingly gorgeous places in the United States, not just in Michigan. It’s only 20 miles from the Indiana border, yet it’s a world away from the busy and noisy urban centres that line Lake Michigan’s southern shoreline. Come once, and you’ll want to return to these spectacular Michigan dunes again and again – and we invite you to do so all year since each season is captivating.
Warren Dunes are considered to be among the best freshwater dunes in the world.
These dunes grew along Lake Michigan as glacial ice receded almost 10,000 years ago. Today, the gigantic sand mountains continue to move and reconfigure as the wind, waves, and visitors climb, run, walk, and slide down their tawny-gold sides.
Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan has conserved 1,952 acres of unparalleled natural splendour, including three miles of Lake Michigan shoreline. The rough forested and open dunes climb to 260 feet, providing breathtaking views of this Great Lake as well as hours of recreational excursions and peaceful fun.
Marijuana and alcoholic beverages use
You may not possess or consume alcoholic beverages in the park from April 1 to September 30 unless you have written permission from the park manager. Although the modification of the law, marijuana usage in public is still not legal or permitted.
Pets
North of the third beach parking lot, dogs are permitted. They cannot be left in any vehicle. Pets are not permitted in the Little Cabins. Pets must be kept on a 6-foot leash at all times and should never be left unattended. Kindly pick up after your pets. Kindly pick up after your pets.
Special Camping Regulations
Campers may not stay for more than 15 nights in a row. During peak season, campsites must be occupied every night on weekends and holidays. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, two nights of camping are required on weekends (Friday and Saturday). Per camping, two vehicles are permitted. Guests are required to leave by 10 p.m. Vehicles are not permitted on the paths. On park roads, only licenced cars and bicycles are permitted. It is not permissible to use fireworks.
Every rule and regulation is printed on the back of the camp permit.

"Very quiet and peaceful place. Spent time at the park to unwind after work and found it to be a great stop. Hiking the dunes is a great experience, but with moderately deep sand it can be strenuous so plan accordingly.
Next to no waves the day I was there, just a beautiful sunset fading behind the calm waters of Lake Michigan. Definitely worth the trip!"

"Excellent campground and park. Loved the huge dog beach. The trails we hiked were mainly sand, scenic, but tough. This would be 5 stars except at night you can hear road noise from I94 traffic.
We camped in August and the cicadas did a decent job of drowning out the road noise.”
